Job Description

NVIDIA has been transforming computer graphics, PC gaming, and accelerated computing for more than 25 years. It’s a unique legacy of innovation that’s fueled by great technology—and amazing people. Today, we’re tapping into the unlimited potential of AI to define the next era of computing. An era in which our GPU acts as the brains of computers, robots, and self-driving cars that can understand the world. Doing what’s never been done before takes vision, innovation, and the world’s best talent. As an NVIDIAN, you’ll be immersed in a diverse, supportive environment where everyone is inspired to do their best work. We are seeking a dedicated Network Engineer to support new products and collaborate with Engineering and our Field Organization. This is a key role in NVIDIA’s NPI Networking team, connecting engineering with NVIS field team for networking solutions.

What you'll be doing:

• Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to review, influence, and align networking design decisions—spanning hardware, software, firmware, and logical architecture—for products such as NVLINK, Spectrum X, and other NVIDIA networking platforms.

• Evaluate networking changes and communicate impact on field organization to maintain robust, scalable workflows aligned with product evolution.

• Define and relay detailed networking requirements to engineering and product management, enabling successful New Product Introduction (NPI) for GPU-based compute platforms.

• Detail architectural and design changes, crafting clear and actionable deliverables for the field organization, including standardized workflows, deployment guides, and configuration examples.

• Validate advanced network designs—including Ethernet, InfiniBand, NVLINK, and NVSwitch RDMA fabrics—for performance and scalability, ensuring they meet real-world customer scenarios and deployment requirements.

• Support NPI team by bridging gaps, tracking progress, and aligning collaborators in product development.

• Support NVIDIA's mission by ensuring breakthrough technologies for global customers and OEM partners.

What we need to see:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• 10+ years of experience in at least two of the following: IP routing, internetworking, LAN switching, Linux systems, infrastructure automation (e.g., Ansible, Salt), OpenStack, VMware ESXi, VXLAN overlays, or data center network design.

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in modern data center networking, with deep expertise in BGP EVPN over VXLAN architectures.

• Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting for automation, network validation, and workflow optimization.

• In-depth experience with network management and monitoring tools (SNMP, syslog, Telegraf, and similar observability stacks).

• Strong grounding in network design principles, protocols, troubleshooting, and best practices—including in production environments with BGP and OSPF.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical collaborators.

• A customer-first attitude, self-motivation, and a proactive approach to leadership in cross-functional environments.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

• Experience with open networking platforms, especially Mellanox switches and Cumulus Linux!

• Familiarity with CI/CD workflows in a network engineering context, including tools such as Git, GitLab, and Jenkins.

• Active engagement in networking-related open-source projects or technical communities!

• Background in Professional Services, customer-facing deployment, and solutions optimization.

• Industry certifications such as CCIE, RHCE, or other advanced Linux/networking credentials.
