Technical Screening: The technical team then prepares a matrix of the particular requirements and required experience for the position and using a list of questions and the results, re-validates the candidates’ technical skills.
Background Check: Administrative personnel will provide a detailed background check, as required, per client agreement.

The Client requires a specialist resource to provide IT network systems (LAN & WAN) technology policy, process & procedure, support and design consulting for the Systems Support Team.
Job Description:
The Client requires a 12 month network systems (LAN & WAN) specialist resource to provide data network design, implementation, support and site assessment for the client. This staff will require advanced LAN & WAN experience, across multiple network vendors and technologies, but specifically with Cisco Systems equipment.
This position will be a dedicated network systems (LAN & WAN) specialist for IT focused on network design, implementation and site assessment, contributing to information security consulting to improve security and supportability around ITS systems. ITS systems include, but are not limited to, highway message boards, traffic counters, reversible lane systems, remote weather information systems, traffic cameras and highway lighting. These systems are also supported by Microsoft Windows and Linux/Unix systems, as well as various networking technologies and systems. This position is a critical component of successful information security and systems support for IT services delivered to the NCDOT Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), Statewide Traffic Operations Center (STOC) and Traffic Systems Operations Unit (TSOU) business customers. This position will be part of a team of data network, information security and systems specialists responsible for security assessment & remediation, standardization of network architecture, implementing change & configuration management, vendor management and compliance focused on these business functions and their related IT services and technologies. This role requires an experienced IT professional with an exceptional technical background as an network systems (LAN & WAN) and implementation specialist, project management skills, and a proven track record of managing & developing services for an enterprise class IT organization, specifically ITS technologies. Also critical are outstanding organizational skills, excellent business judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to prioritize assignments and work independently. This position must be able to collaborate effectively with all IT and business teams and staff at all levels, with specific experience translating business requirements into technical solutions, and communicating and marketing those solutions clearly to the business.
