Reporting to the Director, Application Solutions, you will be at the forefront of leveraging your technical expertise and critical thinking in a dynamic and complex environment. You will play a pivotal role in delivering on projects supporting Xpera’s computing environment security needs. You will be a key player in evaluating emerging technologies and best practices and assisting team members with the adoption of new tools and techniques. The salary range is $75,000.00 to $90,000.00 CAD per year, based on experience, and includes benefits, an EAP, and an RRSP matching program from your first day of employment.
What You Will Do:
Support, discover, resolve, mitigate server, network, and data security issues.
Ensure end user and Xpera client issues and improvements are dealt with effectively, with the right priority and that users are kept up to date with proactive communication.
Answer security questionnaires, in conjunction with various members of IT who can assist.
Ensure existing Work Orders are kept up to date and drive Work Orders to completion.
Continually seek out and identify misconfigurations and, or poor design in network (network devices, servers, storage, AD, etc.).
Be responsible for management of Managed Security Services Provider (MSSP) and investigate alerts and escalations.
Be responsible for incident management reports.
Lead and or participate in small to large complex security projects which may involve multiple team members, and multiple departments.
Identify project risks, escalate issues to management, and assist with mitigation steps as required.
What You Will Bring:
A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma with preference given to candidates with post-secondary education in Computer Science or a related discipline or a combination of related experience and education.
8 or more years of experience with security, windows server administration, firewalls, switches and routers.
Experience with configuring firewalls, switches, routers, IPS/IDS, data, and traffic analysis.
Experience with defender products is an asset.
An ability to develop and share best practices on the following: firewalls, switches, routers, Windows servers, and virtualization.
Work collaboratively with internal team members to achieve goals.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
An ability to manage multiple priorities, a high volume of concurrent tasks, and meet deadlines.
