Your Role
The Network Infrastructure Project Specialist is a pivotal role responsible for the end-to-end coordination of infrastructure projects and the operational management of field engineering activities. This individual plays a crucial role in building and maintaining the network infrastructure across multiple locations, acting as the bridge between high-level design and physical implementation. The Specialist must possess a strong technical background in physical infrastructure, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to effectively collaborate with various cross-functional teams and external vendors.
As a Network Infrastructure Project Specialist, you will work closely with Network Architects to execute the roadmap for augmenting capacity and extending network reach. You will also partner with Network Monitoring and Customer Support teams to ensure timely resolution of infrastructure-related incidents and maintain high service standards.
To be eligible for this position, you must be able to work from our Gurugram office immediately and have a maximum notice period of 30 days.
What You’ll Be Doing:
• Oversee the planning, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure across various locations.
• Manage the expansion of the network footprint and capacity to meet traffic demand and business goals.
• Plan and execute new infrastructure rollouts, Data Center/PoP onboarding, and hardware deployments in collaboration with the technical team.
• Schedule and coordinate infrastructure maintenance, device replacements, and link upgrades, ensuring minimal impact during maintenance windows.
• Evaluate and prioritize network tasks, ensuring deadlines are met through efficient task assignment to field resources.
• Manage budgets, CAPEX planning, and forecasting for all infrastructure deployments.
• Lead the process of finding and contracting new Data Centers/Points of Presence, including negotiating space, power costs, and access terms.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with fiber and data center vendors to ensure effective collaboration and timely support.
• Establish selection criteria and procurement processes for hardware, fiber, and Point-to-Point links.
• Negotiate pricing, support terms, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with vendors; manage non-compliance and escalations during major outages.
• Execute deep inspections of network billing to identify cost-saving opportunities and lead price re-negotiations.
• Manage the cost assurance process: review, approve, or dispute monthly invoices related to network services based on system records.
• Coordinate and provide technical guidance to field engineers and on-site technicians to ensure project success.
• Monitor the health of fiber links and implement necessary changes for improved performance.
• Optimize the balance between cost and redundancy to maximize network uptime.
• Identify root causes of infrastructure failures to plan prevention strategies and service improvements.
• Strategize ways to upgrade low-quality network segments at a reasonable cost.
• Take full responsibility for the company’s equipment and warehouses, ensuring organization, security, and proper maintenance.
• Manage the procurement, replacement, and disposal of network devices.
• Plan material purchases and maintain redundant stock levels for critical infrastructure components.
• Maintain a "Source of Truth" database for network assets and inventory to support network automation.
• Create and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to streamline infrastructure processes.
• Maintain clear documentation for network configurations, physical layouts, and infrastructure changes.
• Ensure the company’s "Digital Twin" system and all project management tools are kept up to date.
• Provide daily and weekly status reports on work-in-progress, network status, and project milestones.

What We Are Looking For:
• Are skilled in clear and effective communication to coordinate complex projects across multiple teams.
• Are familiar with transport network solutions, active/passive DWDM, cabling, fiber types, splicing, and test equipment.
• Have a good understanding of Data Center infrastructure, including power supply, cooling, and rack management.
• Have previous exposure to Network/IT Infrastructure Management processes and have played a major role in large-scale deployments.
• Have experience in scheduling high-risk maintenance and managing Change Management activities.
• Possess strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage several workstreams simultaneously.
• Have a pragmatic approach to prioritization and the ability to work well under pressure.

Working Conditions, Locations and Hours:

Full-time office-based role, at our Gurugram office
•
The working day is 8 hours, and the working week is 40 hours.

Working visits to for meeting partners, vendors, team, checking the quality of the network
• Your will be working on an a rotating on call roster
• After hours scheduled network maintenance work is required
•
90-day notice period for resignation after the trial period
•
Working exclusively for Extreme Infocom Pvt. Ltd. and not for any other companies
