The Role and Impact:
Are you eager to kick-start your career by building test & automation tools for network hardware that powers modern day digital communication infrastructure (data center, 5G network)? Are you passionate about working in a collaborative and dynamic environment? As a Network Hardware Test & Automation Undergraduate Intern, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the development of tools for debugging state-of-the-art Ethernet and PCIE network sub-system hardware IP, analyzing link endpoints such as switches and NICs for protocol compliance, and helping build test automation scripts for electrical validation of high-speed signals up to 100Gb/s using cutting edge test instruments. You'll gain hands-on experience in advanced test automation methods while collaborating with engineering teams to ensure system reliability and performance across varied use cases. Key Responsibilities:
- Developing Linux command-link (CLI) tools using hardware IP APIs for Ethernet and PCIE network sub-systems
- Characterizing networking hardware for electrical and protocol level compliance against IEEE 802.3 Ethernet standards
- Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve system-level issues using root cause analysis techniques.
- Apply hardware/software systems engineering fundamentals to document technical findings and create impactful solutions.
- Contribute to hands-on projects that align with Intel's mission and business objectives, gaining valuable industry experience.
Qualifications:
This is an entry-level position and will be compensated accordingly. You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Experience would be obtained through a combination of prior education level classes, and current level school classes, projects, research, and relevant previous job and/or internship experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Enrollment in a bachelor's program in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
3+ months of experience with the following technical skills:
• Foundational knowledge of common software ecosystem components - Linux OS, installing packages/dependences, GitHub repository.
• Familiarity with Linux CLI and scripting languages (shell, python, tcl etc.)

• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and stakeholders.
• A demonstrated passion for learning and adapting to emerging technologies

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US: $69,800.00-94,500.00 USD (Hourly Role)
