Role Overview
We are looking for a Network Engineer to join our team, responsible for supporting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and expanding EdgeUno’s network infrastructure across Latin America. This role requires hands-on technical expertise in routing, switching, MPLS environments, and network operations, with strong focus on reliability, scalability, and operational excellence.
The ideal candidate should have practical experience working with carrier-grade network environments, especially involving Juniper equipment and large-scale infrastructure operations. This person should be comfortable operating in fast-paced environments, troubleshooting complex networking issues, collaborating across technical teams, and supporting network expansion initiatives.
Core Responsibilities
Network Operations & Infrastructure Support
• Install, configure, test, and document network systems and infrastructure equipment.
• Monitor and maintain network reliability, availability, and operational performance with minimal service interruption.
• Support existing network infrastructure and participate in network upgrades and expansion initiatives.
• Perform routing, switching, cabling, and infrastructure-related operational activities.
Network Configuration & Troubleshooting
• Configure, troubleshoot, and support networking environments involving Juniper routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Troubleshoot networking technologies and protocols including VLANs, L2VPN, VRF, MPLS, RSVP-TE, OSPF, and BGP.
• Perform network traffic analysis, issue isolation, and root cause troubleshooting across infrastructure environments.
• Optimize network performance through proactive monitoring and operational analysis.
Projects & Technical Documentation
• Participate in network deployment, upgrade, and integration projects involving hardware and software implementation.
• Support logical installation, testing, and validation of infrastructure environments.
• Maintain accurate documentation related to network topology, installations, operational procedures, and troubleshooting activities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Collaborate with internal engineering, operations, and infrastructure teams to support network stability and scalability.
• Work with multiple vendors and technologies within production networking environments.
• Support operational best practices related to network security, QoS, and infrastructure reliability.
Requirements
• English B2+ required.
• Previous experience in network engineering, network operations, or infrastructure-related positions.
• Strong hands-on experience with Juniper routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Experience with installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of carrier-grade networking environments.
• Solid understanding of MPLS environments, including MPLS-TE concepts and configurations.
• Knowledge of networking protocols and technologies such as VLAN, L2VPN, VRF, MPLS, RSVP-TE, OSPF, and BGP.
• Experience collaborating with networking vendors such as Juniper, Cisco, Arista, Extreme, Fortinet, or similar technologies.
• Knowledge of security, QoS, and DWDM concepts and technologies.
• Experience performing network traffic analysis and troubleshooting.
Nice to Have
• Juniper or Cisco certifications.
• Experience within telecommunications, ISP, carrier, backbone, or data center environments.
• Exposure to large-scale network infrastructure operations across multiple locations or countries.
• Experience supporting high-availability and low-latency network environments.
