Position  ::: Network Engineer
Location ::: Richmond, VA
Duration ::: 12 Months Contract

Fundamental requirements:
- Advanced working knowledge of and 12+ years of professional experience with network administration of Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls
- Thorough, in-depth knowledge of and experience with TCP/IP and all layers of the OSI Model
- Considerable working knowledge of HP Proliant and HP Blade server environment
- Considerable working knowledge of Cisco UCS infrastructure
- Considerable working knowledge of EMC VNX Storage Area Network environment, including zoning configuration
- Meticulous attention to detail, skilled in authoring technical documentation, ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously and to work both independently and in a team environment
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Legally able to be hired as a state employee
Desired but not required:
- Working knowledge of VMWare, Citrix, VPN
Responsibilities include:
- Routine network administration
- Working with Office of Information Security in remediation of security vulnerabilities
- Installation of operating system, application, and hardware patches and upgrades to servers and network devices as required
- Network security configuration and administration
- Configuration and maintenance of Cisco ASA, ASR, Cube, and 6509 core switch
- Special projects installing server and network equipment and software
- Creating and maintaining network documentation as required, to include Visio diagrams

- Cisco VOiP
- EMC Data Domain 2500, 4500, and Networker
- Orion SolarWinds monitoring
- WSFTP and Move it FTP Server
