Network Engineer (Intelligent transport)

As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible in providing network project implementation, and network maintenance support, particularly in the area of network architectures (LAN, Data Centre and WAN) in transport industry. You will also be involved in hands-on operations in network maintenance.

Progressively, you will own technical design in implementation of technical solutions. Ensuring quality technical solutions and drive towards the highest levels of customer satisfaction and improvement in professional standards

What will you do?

• Manage/implement network infrastructure projects covering in area of Telecom Networks (LAN & WAN) and security system.
• Manage/implement, by project basis, working with project team members in implementing and delivering projects till commissioning.
• Assist Project Manager in various aspects of project implementation, including network design, site preparation, risks identification and mitigation
• Responsible for delivery of assigned tasks within the delivery cycle of a project.
• Tasks include performing network/systems configurations, troubleshooting errors/problems, monitoring and/or testing systems performance, and contribute to the design of technical solutions for customer environments adherence to scope of work.
• Proactively provides solutions to prevent problems from occurring and/or to provide resolution for technical issues.
• Liaising with external vendor and user environments within project cycle
• Monitor & measure the performance & availability of systems proactively; implement corrective actions identified to improve performance & service level availability.
• Respond promptly to incident, root cause analysis & provide temporary and/or permanent resolution of incidents escalated. Provide timely status updates to relevant parties.
• Implement service continuity measures, i.e., backup/restore procedures & disaster recovery plan, to ensure continuous operation of the business.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks.
• Assist in preparation of proposals and solution presentations.
• Evaluates internal & external business environment to develop long-term strategy for the unit/organization
• Attain key certifications for partnership with key vendors

 

The ideal candidate should possess:

• Diploma or higher qualification 
• 5 to 7 years Years of IT Experience
• Experienced in implementing and administrating network devices such as Switches, Routers, Firewalls.
• Experienced in implementing and administrating network routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, BGP & network Security.
• Experience implementing and administrating common TCP/IP-based services, including DNS, DHCP, TFTP, SSH, SMTP, etc.
• Experienced in Administration and troubleshooting in network environment.
• Exposure of protocol analysis tools used to troubleshoot layer 2 & 3 issue
• CCNA or CCNP certification preferred
