We are currently looking for a skilled Network Engineer to join our DDoS Protection team. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting our security products, with a focus on Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) protection.

What You’ll Do

• Analyzing network traffic, diverting, assessing, filtering, and redesigning solutions tailored to meet specific client needs, while provisioning customers on DDoS tooling.
• Responding promptly and effectively to DDoS-related incidents impacting production network services in a 24/7 operational environment.
• Proactively monitoring traffic patterns and fine-tuning mitigation thresholds to enhance protection measures. Collaborating in the design and implementation of strategies and architectures that strengthen Gcore's secure cyber infrastructure.
• Providing 24/7 on-call support on a rotational basis, including weekends and holidays.
• Partnering with cross-functional operations and engineering teams to maintain and advance a secure network environment.

What We’re Looking For

• Hands-on experience with DDoS detection, analysis, and mitigation in large-scale networking environments, with a preference for a global ISP
• Experience with Unix-based systems administration
• In-depth Network Operating Systems/Administration knowledge & experience (Cisco XR/XE, Arista EOS, Junos, SROS)
• Experience with network automation using Python Technical Skills:
• Network Fundamentals: A deep understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, and OSPF
• DDoS Protection: stateful and stateless protection measures always-on and on-demand protection, remotely triggered blackhole routing, bgp flowspec.
• Programming & Automation Tools: Familiarity with data-serialization language (YAML, JSON), template engines (jinja2). Familiarity with git and CI/CD tools.
• Knowledge of monitoring solutions (Prometheus, Grafana).
• Fluent English

Nice to Have

• Experience working for DDoS protection providers.
• Familiarity with anti-DDOS protection solutions (Cloudflare, Arbor, Radware, Akamai)
• Good teamwork and problem-solving abilities.
