Securiport LLC is a US-based technology company headquartered in Reston, VA, specializing in passenger biometric recognition, border security analytics, immigration processing, and intelligent information management systems. We design and deploy advanced technology solutions globally, including software platforms, field operations support, and secure data analytics environments.
We are seeking a Network Administrator (Cloud & Security) to support Securiport’s field operations environments. This role is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and securing network infrastructure used in border-security analytics solutions. The position includes hands-on network administration, cloud environment support, security monitoring, incident response, and field deployment activities. The Network Administrator serves as a key technical resource for new implementations as well as ongoing operations, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Functions
Network Operations & Administration
Deploy, configure, and maintain secure LAN/WAN infrastructures, VPNs, firewalls, and wireless networks for field operations
Administer routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and static routing where applicable
Support Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) infrastructure and uptime requirements
Maintain network devices, file servers, firewalls, VPN appliances, and security monitoring systems Perform system health checks, firmware updates, patching, and configuration changes
Document network diagrams, configurations, IP addressing schemes, and SOPs
Plan, install, terminate, and certify all fiber‑optic and copper cabling runs to build a reliable physical backbone that meets design attenuation and redundancy requirements
Cloud & Virtualization Support
Support cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) including virtual machines, VPC/VNet networking, IAM/security groups, and monitoring
Assist in hybrid connectivity, cloud migrations, and secure remote access solutions
Work with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM, etc.)
Cybersecurity & Incident Response
Monitor traffic, logs, and security events for threats or anomalies
Conduct network security audits and risk assessments across HQ and field environments
Prepare and execute incident response procedures for cyber events
Coordinate penetration testing and vulnerability assessments with internal/external teams
Recommend and implement mitigation strategies for identified vulnerabilities
Contribute to continuous improvement of security posture, tools, and processes
Customer & Field Support
Provide hands-on IT support to field personnel and local customers to resolve technical issues
Participate in planning and requirements meetings with IT leadership and program stakeholders Prepare systems for production deployment and support operational testing
Reporting & Documentation
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for field network administrators
Provide regular reporting to the Global Director of Operations on security status, risks, and findings
Contribute to policy improvements, best practices, and compliance efforts
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Hands-on experience with enterprise networking (routing, switching, VLANs, NAT, VPNs, DHCP, DNS)
Install, terminate, and certify fiber-optic cables (single-mode/multimode, LC/SC/MPO) end-to-end
Route, label, and manage fiber and conduit throughout racks, closets, and ducts, and produce accurate as-built diagrams and documentation
Experience with major network and firewall vendors (Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, Palo Alto, etc.)
Working knowledge of BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) and other routing protocols
Working knowledge of cloud environments (Azure and/or AWS)
Experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM platforms, and security monitoring tools
Experience performing network audits, vulnerability assessments, and remediation activities
Familiarity with incident response processes and threat hunting concepts
Ability to produce technical documentation and SOPs for field teams
Ability to work in dynamic, multi-stakeholder environments (customers, partners, IT leadership)
Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (travel may be extensive)
High degree of initiative, independent problem solving, and accountability
Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field OR
8+ years of relevant hands-on experience in lieu of degree
5+ years of network administration or IT infrastructure experience required
Cloud platform experience (Azure, AWS, or both) required
Cybersecurity experience required (SOC, IR, threat detection, or similar focus)
Experience designing, documenting, and deploying physical infrastructure (e.g., racking/stacking, cabling, server installation)
Preferred Certifications
CCNA or CCNP strongly preferred
Additional relevant certifications (e.g., JNCIS-ENT, NSE 4 and NSE 5, PCNSA, CEH, Security+, Azure/AWS) are a plus
Physical Job Requirements
Ability to remain in seated/standing position for long durations
Ability to work extensively with computers and monitoring systems
Travel Requirements
Travel may be required domestically and internationally, including field deployments
