The Opportunity:
We are currently recruiting an NDT Engineer to join our Special Engineering Services department. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Civil Engineer/technician to work within the expeditious Geospatial industry. The role will appeal to the practically minded who enjoy a balanced mix of office and site-based work, applying the latest technology and assessing the data produced to help maintain the UK’s critical infrastructure.
What will I be doing in my new role?
Undertaking a variety of technical inspections using a wide range of technologies (predominately GPR for NDT of structures).
Understanding and application of technology for undertaking inspections.
Handling, processing, and interpreting geospatial data.
Preparing interpretive reports
Any other duties as required by the business.
Requirements of the role:
1-2 years’ experience working with non-destructive testing equipment on civil infrastructure (reinforced concrete, steel, buried structures etc.)
Understanding of Surveying using total station / GPS etc
Able to process and analyse GPR data using advanced software such as Geolitix
Ability to produce plans in CAD format displaying the outcomes of the NDT survey
Survey/Engineering or other relevant qualification for the role – Civil Engineering desirable
Fundamental knowledge of the principles and practices of GPR and structures
Ability to perform detailed field and office inspection work
Good writing skills and proficiency in the English language
Flexibility to travel nationwide as required by our clients.
Working during normal working hours and during out of hours as required by the project
Possess a full clean driving license.
Ability to work in a Hybrid environment (office/site/home)
