Role Summary:
The Finance Executive role will be responsible for providing support for finance related functions and performing activities related to the accurate processing of authorized invoices; recording, updating and reconciling related financial information; and providing instructions and/or accounting support to other personnel in accordance with established practices.
Contract: Permanent
Location: Walvis Bay, Namibia (On-Site)
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare work to be accomplished by gathering and sorting documents and related information.
Pay invoices by verifying transaction information, scheduling and preparing disbursements and obtaining authorisation of payment.
Obtain revenue by verifying transaction information, computing charges and refunds, preparing and mailing invoices, identifying delinquent accounts and insufficient payments.
Collect revenue by reminding delinquent accounts and notifying the Finance Manager of the customer’s insufficient payments, if any.
Prepare financial reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing account information and trends.
Maintain accounting ledgers by posting account transactions.
Verify accounts by reconciling statements and transactions.
Resolve account discrepancies by investigating documentation, issuing stop payments, payments, or adjustments.
Maintain financial security by following internal accounting controls.
Secure financial information by completing data base backups.
Maintain financial historical records by filing accounting documents.
Raise all shipping line invoices.
Checking and passing of all vendors/subcontractors invoices for approval 2-3 days after being received.
Candidate Requirements:
Accounting / Finance Degree essential.
2-3 years experience in a similar position.
Strong Accounting / Finance knowledge in the workplace.
Advanced MS Excel skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
