Music Teacher
Reports To: Academic Director
Primary Function: To provide quality instruction to maximize student learning and achievement.
Hours: M-F; 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Start Date: July 29, 2026
Anticipated Salary: $52,000-$64,000

Requirements
Educational Level: Bachelor's Degree
Certification/License Required: Teaching Certificate preferred
Experience: Experience teaching theater/music in a K-8 setting preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong classroom management skills required, strong written and verbal communication skills, extensive knowledge in music theory, voice, and theater.

Essential Duties
Create lesson plans related to both music and theater.
Assist students in creating their own dramatic pieces.
Produce and direct plays for school and public performances
Hold auditions to select cast and assign parts, help to assemble and manage lighting and sets, and hold rehearsals to ensure students have mastered their parts.
Assign non-performing students to backstage production tasks, such as constructing, painting, moving scenery, operating stage light, and sound equipment.
Teach choir, band, orchestra, or a combination of all.
Work with students on plays, concerts, and other events that include music.
Teach music theory and other music related curriculum as directed by the school.
Assign practice and other music-related homework and test students on their knowledge.
Keep grades, meet with parents, and share progress reports.

Anticipated Salary and Benefits
The anticipated starting salary range for this position is $52,000-$64,000, depending on experience and skill level.
