AECOM is seeking a Municipal Engineer to join our growing Water team in Edmonton, Alberta.
We are looking for a motivated professional with experience in civil engineering or civil technology, a solid understanding of construction management principles, and strong familiarity with the design and construction of municipal infrastructure. You will thrive in a collaborative environment, communicate effectively with project teams and clients, and bring a high level of initiative, energy, and enthusiasm to delivering quality work.
In this role, you will support the delivery of municipal water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects across the region.
Key Responsibilities
• Apply working knowledge of municipal water, wastewater, and drainage conveyance infrastructure.
• Contribute to the design of civil systems for water, wastewater, and drainage conveyance facilities.
• Perform constructability reviews, conduct construction inspections, and lead construction contract administration.
• Prepare technical documentation, design reports, project specifications, and contract documents.
• Develop construction cost estimates and support project planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
• Communicate and coordinate effectively with clients, project team members, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders.
• Assist with proposal preparation, contract development, and negotiations.
Minimum Requirements :
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent), P.Eng or eligible for provincial registration
• 4+ years of related experience with civil engineering, design, construction inspection, contract administration.
• Valid provincial AB Driver's License and access to a vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications:
• 8+ years of related experience with municipal water, wastewater and/or stormwater conveyance and pumping infrastructure.
• Experience in proposal writing, scoping and project management
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors and clients.
• Comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Experience with trenchless technologies would be an asset
