Required Skills
Job Description
SyberJet is an up-and-coming aircraft manufacturer dedicated to pushing the boundaries of innovation and precision in the design and manufacturing of advanced aerospace systems and aircraft. Our team is committed to excellence, creativity, and continuous improvement in all aspects of our work.
Job Description
SyberJet Aircraft is seeking an MTS Control Specialist to lead the control systems integration and structural testing of our aircraft programs using MTS AeroPro software. This role is responsible for the full lifecycle of test control, from initial hardware configuration and test setup to real-time execution, troubleshooting, and system maintenance. You will act as the technical lead for Material Test Systems (MTS), ensuring that all structural tests are executed with precision, safety, and compliance with certification requirements.
Key Responsibilities
MTS Test Setup & Configuration:
Configure and manage critical system files including Hardware Interface (.hwi), System Resource (.sym), and Station Configuration (.cfg) files.
Define and assign sensors and actuators to hardware resources using AeroPro wizards, including the Add Actuator, Add Sensor, and Test Setup Wizards.
Integrate Active Load Abort (ALA) manifold settings within the HWI files to ensure hydraulic safety during testing.
Set up complex control channels, including three-stage valve tuning and inner loop controls.
Test Execution & Control:
Design and manage test profiles and procedures, defining specific load conditions and repeating sequences for fatigue and durability testing.
Implement and tune advanced control features such as Cross-Coupling Compensation (CCC), Phase Control, and Mode Switching.
Utilize Calculations in the Loop to manipulate real-time signals and generate event-action logic within the real-time controller.
Monitor real-time test data using MTS Data Display workspaces and the Load Control Checker to verify load tolerances.
Troubleshooting & Evaluation:
Conduct root-cause analysis of test anomalies using the MTS Log Viewer to analyze system, station, and test-specific log files (.aerolog).
Generate comprehensive Diagnostic Files to coordinate technical resolution with MTS support.
Perform Test Verification to validate configurations against hardware resources and verify calculated channel expressions.
System Maintenance & Administration:
Manage the installation and upgrading of AeroPro and 793 System Software across server and client workstations.
Execute routine system maintenance, including sensor calibration, shunt verification, and backup of all configuration and test files.
Maintain local area network (LAN) protection for AeroPro systems, ensuring isolation from corporate IT activities to prevent test interruptions.
Qualifications
Education: * Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural testing with a focus on MTS control systems.
Demonstrated expertise in MTS AeroPro software and 793 System Software.
Experience with large-scale aircraft structural testing, including fatigue and static load tests.
Working knowledge of hydraulic supply systems, including service manifolds and servovalve operations.
Software Skills:
Advanced proficiency in MTS AeroPro, MTS Data Display, and MTS 793 software.
Experience with MultiPurpose TestWare (MPT) and FlexNet license management.
Familiarity with EtherCAT hardware configuration and SDAC diagnostics within AeroPro.
Technical Knowledge:
Strong understanding of closed-loop servohydraulic control principles and PIDF tuning.
Knowledge of Transducer Electronic Data Sheets (TEDS) for automated sensor identification.
Understanding of aircraft structural certification standards and test safety protocols.
Analytical Skills:
Ability to analyze complex data streams (Combined Data Stream) and identify control errors or hardware malfunctions.
Communication:
Strong ability to document test procedures and communicate technical requirements to engineering teams.
Team Player: * Collaborative mindset to work with instrumentation and structural teams in a fast-paced environment.
