Sanofi's Global MSAT (Manufacturing Sciences, Analytics & Technology) acts as a crucial link between R&D and Manufacturing, securing today's portfolio while delivering future launches of high-quality, innovative drugs and vaccines. By driving its own transformation, MSAT provides day-to-day manufacturing support, effective Life Cycle Management, process robustness enhancement, and yield improvement to optimize performance.

Join our global network and contribute to 3 to 5 new product launches annually across various modalities — directly enabling us to reach and serve more patients and communities. You'll collaborate with talented international experts, scientists, and project leaders dedicated to designing cutting-edge industrial chemical, biological, and analytical processes.

Under MSAT's lead, and in partnership with Manufacturing 4.0, Digital, M&S, and R&D, the Process Data Science & Digital team drives Data Science innovations and integrations within MSAT's day-to-day operations — bridging cutting-edge research with industrial-scale manufacturing.

Within this team, you'll be part of the Mechanistic Modeling and Process Control Platform, delivering process modeling to support Quality by Design for new products, accelerating technology transfer through numerical comparability approaches, and developing real-time process monitoring and control solutions.

Main responsibilities:

• Lead process modeling projects that support new product launches and commercial product improvements, working autonomously to deliver impactful solutions from strategy through execution.

• Gather and translate complex business needs from lab scientists, project leaders, and process experts into clear modeling strategies and actionable plans for drug substance and drug product manufacturing processes.

• Develop and apply mechanistic, hybrid, and computational fluid dynamics models to characterize and validate manufacturing processes, supporting Quality by Design principles for new products.

• Build and deploy real-time monitoring and control solutions using chemometric modeling, advanced process control, and AI/ML techniques to optimize process performance and yield.

• Collaborate with diverse internal and external partners — including R&D teams, manufacturing sites, academic institutions, and technology vendors — to deliver breakthrough modeling solutions.

• Lead technology transfer initiatives and manage multi-site projects, ensuring seamless knowledge sharing and numerical comparability approaches across global operations.

• Champion innovative modeling approaches through scientific publications, patents, and training programs that advance the entire process modeling community.

About you

• MSc or PhD in chemical engineering, bioprocess engineering, industrial engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.

• Strong background in biopharmaceutical process modeling, with expertise in mechanistic/hybrid modeling and process analytical technology (e.g., Raman/NIR chemometrics).

• Technical proficiency in relevant tools such as Python, R, Matlab, gProms, Ansys Fluent, M-Star, or SIMCA, with the ability to bridge biological and digital terminology.

• Highly motivated and proactive mindset — someone who takes initiative, proposes innovative solutions, and thrives in autonomous environments.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for gathering client requirements and presenting complex technical findings to diverse, multicultural audiences.

• Proven ability to lead networks, animate teams, and manage technology transfer projects across multiple sites.

• Fluent in English (spoken and written).
