MSAT Intern - Pittsburgh

The Role:

ElevateBio is looking for a summer Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) intern to provide support for the startup of the MSAT laboratory, digital system implementation, and training program at the newly constructed BaseCamp facility in Pittsburgh, PA. In this role, the intern will be expected to author workflows, develop organizational tools, and support technical deliverables. In addition, the role will include identifying and driving process improvements. The candidate will communicate with multiple departments and present all deliverables to a cross-functional team.

Here's What You’ll Do

• Assist in setting up the MSAT Laboratory to include starting up equipment, ordering materials, and building organizational framework to ensure readiness for training and technology transfer

• Author and test digital execution records for operational tasks in MSAT laboratory

• Create training materials for bioprocessing, aseptic technique, and GMP operations

• Work cross-functionally across departments and sites to assist in site startup projects

Requirements:

• Currently pursuing undergraduate degree in any of the following disciplines: chemical/biomedical/bioengineering, biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or similar.

• Experience with cell culture, aseptic technique, and molecular biology laboratory techniques

• Interest in biomanufacturing, cell and gene therapy, and working in a GMP facility

• Ability to work in a team environment across functions

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Experience with Microsoft Office tools

The budgeted range for this position is $25.00 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected hourly range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.
