Job Type: Non-Exempt W-2, Hourly – Part-Time
Shift & Schedule:
This position operates on a variable part-time schedule based on customer demand, operational needs, and moving assignments. Flexible availability is required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Work opportunities and scheduling may vary based on operational demand and customer scheduling requirements.
Pay Rate: $17.00 – $30.00 per hour, commensurate with moving and logistics experience, leadership ability, commercial driving experience, operational efficiency, customer service performance, reliability, scheduling flexibility, and demonstrated ability to independently manage successful moving operations.
Job Description: The Moving Team Lead is responsible for supervising movers and moving crews, coordinating daily moving operations, safely operating moving trucks, ensuring customer satisfaction, protecting customer property, maintaining operational profitability, supporting labor efficiency, monitoring crew productivity, maintaining company vehicles and equipment, and ensuring all moving assignments are completed safely, efficiently, professionally, and within approved labor expectations.
This role also supports operational accountability, revenue protection, upselling opportunities, vehicle maintenance coordination, and customer service excellence across residential, commercial, and specialty moving assignments.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Crew Supervision:
Supervise movers and moving crew members during residential, commercial, and specialty moving assignments.
Assign daily responsibilities and monitor crew performance throughout each move.
Ensure team members maintain professionalism, safety standards, and productivity.
Conduct pre-job briefings and communicate expectations clearly.
Address operational or employee concerns in real time and report issues to management.
Train and mentor crew members on company procedures, safety standards, and customer service expectations.
Truck Operation, Maintenance & Transportation:
Safely operate company moving trucks and equipment in compliance with Maryland traffic laws and company policies.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
Ensure trucks are properly loaded, balanced, and secured to prevent damage during transportation.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and operational readiness of company trucks and equipment.
Monitor fuel usage, tire conditions, warning lights, and maintenance needs.
Coordinate vehicle maintenance and repair needs with approved vendors and mechanics.
Customer Service & Client Satisfaction:
Serve as the primary on-site representative for Enterprise Management Solutions LLC and Zebulon Perry Expediters.
Communicate professionally and respectfully with customers throughout each move.
Resolve customer concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
Verify customer satisfaction before job completion.
Maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude at all times.
Operational Oversight:
Review work orders, inventory lists, schedules, and customer instructions before assignments.
Coordinate loading and unloading operations efficiently.
Ensure customer property is protected during all phases of the move.
Monitor inventory accuracy and accountability throughout assignments.
Complete required paperwork, reports, and documentation accurately.
Ensure moving projects are completed on schedule and within approved labor expectations.
Monitor crew productivity and manage workflow to support operational profitability.
Revenue Protection & Upselling:
Identify opportunities for additional services including packing, junk removal, additional delivery stops, storage services, furniture assembly/disassembly, and specialty item handling.
Ensure all additional customer requests or upsell services are documented and approved before work is performed.
Support management in maximizing job profitability while maintaining customer satisfaction.
Payment Verification & Financial Accountability:
Confirm customer payment arrangements with management before services begin.
Monitor labor efficiency and operational costs to avoid unnecessary expenses.
Obtain required customer signatures, approvals, and completion confirmations.
Submit all job documentation, receipts, and reports promptly after assignments.
Safety & Compliance:
Enforce safe lifting practices and proper equipment usage.
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
Maintain awareness of hazards at job sites and report unsafe conditions immediately.
Ensure proper use of dollies, straps, ramps, moving pads, and protective materials.
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism regarding customer information and property.
Licenses / Qualifications
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
DOT Medical Card preferred but not required
Experience
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
Ability to safely operate box trucks and moving vehicles
Ability to regularly lift and move heavy items (50–100+ lbs with assistance)
Strong communication and customer service skills
Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Ability to pass background screening and motor vehicle check
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Ability to repeatedly enter and exit moving trucks throughout the day
Ability to safely lift and maneuver furniture, appliances, and heavy materials with team assistance
