Motion Capture Scenic Fabricator

Who We Are

2K is a leading global developer and publisher of some of today’s most popular games and is most well-known for several of its critically-acclaimed franchises, including NBA 2K, Borderlands, BioShock, Mafia, WWE 2K, Sid Meier’s Civilization, XCOM, PGA TOUR 2K and more. This role is part of the 2K Global Services, a group of highly experienced individuals, adept in providing services not typically found on development teams. We are looking to bring in a new fabricator for our demanding shoot schedule.

What We Need

A fabricator who is safe and comfortable using various power tools, materials and building techniques. Willing to adapt to sudden requests and diligently follow build requirements. Someone who can thrive in a fast-paced environment driven by multiple projects each with their own specific needs. A fabricator comfortable maintaining equipment and prop storage practices even at the busiest time. Past work in a theatre/film production and/or motion capture is a major plus.

Basic Qualifications

· 2 years carpentry or scenic/prop building experience

· 1+ years of other fabrication experience

· Metal work, upholstery, sewing, 3D printing, CNC operating, etc

· Must be dependable and flexible to work on studio/shop needs

· Able to lift 65lbs

· Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

· Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

· Working knowledge of email and Microsoft office suit

· Construct props and set pieces for stage use

· Trouble shoot complicated builds, especially stunt builds

· Work efficiently both independently and with a team

· Follow industry best practices regarding safety procedures

· Read and interpret build designs

· Thoroughly understand performance and build needs

· Be organized and detail-oriented with an eye for quality

· Modify builds as needs change

· Thrive in a fast pace ever changing environment

· Maintain shop organization and cleanliness throughout the day

· Uphold a professional work environment

· Operate a variety of man lifts including scissor lifts and order picker

Bonus Points

· Experience with performance-based builds such as Theatre/Film

· Experience with metal, plastic, fabric, puppets, and paint

· Experience and interest with other production disciplines: 3D printing, CNC, Robotics, Machining, Rigging, Electrics, etc

· Knowledge of Fusion, Jira and Mocap pipelines

The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $78,900 and $116,760 per Year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards and eligibility to participate in our 401(K) plan and Employee Stock Purchase Program.
