Our client in the Information Technology and Services industry is looking for a Monitoring Purview SME to lead the design and implementation of comprehensive monitoring and data governance solutions within Microsoft Fabric and Azure environments. This role will provide technical leadership across monitoring, compliance, and data protection initiatives, ensuring robust visibility, control, and governance of enterprise data platforms. The position requires deep expertise in Microsoft Purview, Azure monitoring tools, and data security frameworks, along with the ability to advise stakeholders and operate effectively in complex, evolving environments.
What you will do:
• Lead discovery, definition, and implementation of monitoring capabilities within Microsoft Fabric and Azure environments.
• Design and implement Microsoft Purview solutions including data catalogue, data lineage, and data loss prevention capabilities.
• Configure and manage monitoring tools such as Capacity Metrics, Monitoring Hub, Azure Log Analytics, Azure Sentinel, Insight Manager, and Fabric Unified Admin Monitoring.
• Provide technical leadership and advisory support on monitoring, compliance, and governance best practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define monitoring requirements and align solutions with business and regulatory needs.
• Develop and maintain low-level design documents, standard operating procedures, and user guides.
• Deliver training and knowledge transfer sessions to operational and technical teams.
• Ensure effective implementation of data security practices including classification, sensitivity labeling, and data loss prevention.
• Support operational monitoring and continuous improvement of monitoring frameworks.
• Apply advanced monitoring techniques including workspace monitoring where applicable.
• Work effectively in ambiguous environments to define solutions and drive outcomes.
• Engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to communicate solutions and progress.
• Proven expertise in Microsoft Purview and Azure or Fabric monitoring tools including Capacity Metrics, Monitoring Hub, Azure Log Analytics, Azure Sentinel, Insight Manager, and Fabric Unified Admin Monitoring.
• Strong hands-on experience configuring and administering monitoring and governance tools.
• Deep understanding of data governance frameworks and data security concepts including classification, sensitivity labels, and data loss prevention.
• Experience working within Microsoft Fabric and Power BI environments.
• Relevant Microsoft certifications such as DP-600 or DP-700, or equivalent, are preferred.
• Strong ability to provide consultative guidance and technical leadership to stakeholders.
• Experience working in complex and ambiguous environments with evolving requirements.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies and concepts.
