Mohs Micrographic Surgeon / Dermatologist (MD/DO)
Position Summary
The Mohs Dermatologist provides specialized medical and surgical care for patients with skin cancer, with a primary focus on Mohs micrographic surgery. This role includes the diagnosis, treatment, and reconstruction of cutaneous malignancies, delivering precise, tissue-sparing care while ensuring optimal oncologic and cosmetic outcomes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Evaluate and manage patients with cutaneous malignancies, including basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma in situ
• Perform Mohs micrographic surgery for skin cancers in accordance with established clinical standards
• Interpret histopathologic slides during Mohs procedures
• Perform surgical reconstruction and repair following Mohs excision
• Provide longitudinal dermatologic care and postoperative follow-up
• Collaborate with general dermatologists, plastic surgeons, ENT surgeons, and oncologists as appropriate
• Educate patients regarding diagnosis, treatment options, procedural expectations, and preventive skin care
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and outcomes initiatives
• Supervise and educate fellows, residents, nursing staff, and clinical support personnel as applicable
• Comply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards
Qualifications
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school
• Completion of an accredited dermatology residency program
• Completion of an accredited Mohs Micrographic Surgery fellowship
• Board-eligible or board-certified in Dermatology
• Eligibility for or certification in Mohs Micrographic Surgery as applicable
• Ability to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensure
• DEA registration or eligibility

• Manual dexterity for fine surgical and histologic techniques
• Visual acuity sufficient for microscopic slide interpretation and surgical precision
Requirements:
Must maintain state certification and/or licensure.
Must be legally licensed to practice medicine in North Dakota and/or Minnesota, depending on the location of the practice to which you are assigned.
