Role Overview:
Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Modular Design Managers role is to manage the day-to-day operation of the Modular design team within the CEL Engineering Department.
What You'll Be Doing:
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the Modular Design Team.
• Provide technical support to the sales team to assist with tendering Modular systems.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant standards applicable to the Modular building business unit, such as building regulations, Eurocodes and IEC standards.
• Attend all Modular project related meetings on behalf of the engineering team.
• Attend the engineering weekly meetings to report on current issues.
• Provide weekly reports on the progress of projects within the Modular Design business unit.
• Assist with implementation of continuous improvements to the technical designs on an ongoing basis.
• Assist with closing out and creating improvements to raised NCRs
• Ensure that all relevant documentation is up to date and stored in the company approved storage locations.
• Other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements:
• A bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• 5-10+ Years relevant experience in Modular Construction preferably within the electrical power industry.
Key Competencies:
• Strong understanding of IEC standards applicable to modular buildings
• Strong understanding of Eurocodes in relation to modular buildings
• Strong understanding of the technical standard EN1090-2
• Knowledge of integrated cooling systems as related to compact substation cooling.
• Understanding of industry best practices in modular construction and safety compliance.
• Strong technical interpretation skills for specifications and tender documents.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word).
• Strong attention to detail and structured engineering approach.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently
