Quest Defense Systems & Solutions, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Model Based Systems Engineer to support next-generation military aviation development. The team is leveraging Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to drive end-to-end system architecture, requirements development, and verification across complex, safety-critical aerospace systems. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a high-visibility program shaping the future of vertical lift and battlefield capability.
This role is primarily remote with 10-15% travel as needed. Eastern or Central time zones preferred, Indianapolis, IN, or Dallas/Ft Worth, TX local could be a plus.
Due to the nature of this work, all candidates must be U.S. citizens.
Key Responsibilities:
• SysML Modeling in MagicDraw/Cameo
• Executing plans for system development and verification for air vehicle components
• Generating system functional requirements from stakeholder expectations
• Developing architecture models and allocating requirements to sub-systems/hardware/software components
• Validating and verifying system requirements
• Troubleshooting and resolving system integration/verification issues
• Modelling interface controls and/or working with interface control documents
Required Qualifications:
• US Citizen
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• 5 + years of aerospace domain experience
• 2+ years of model-based systems engineering (MBSE) experience
• Previous experience with a tool like Cameo (if not Cameo, other tools like Enterprise Architect, Rhapsody, or Magic Draw)
• Experience with Configuration Management (CM) tools like Teamwork Cloud, Subversion (SVN), ClearCase, git, or Dimensions
• Experience with engineering processes including requirements definition, requirements allocation, requirements validation, requirements verification, integration, embedded software, electronic systems, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)/European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA)/National Aviation Authority (NAA) certification, and system safety.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Python and/or scripting in the Cameo environment
• Experience with turbine engines or other engine systems
• Experience developing and executing test cases and procedures
• Solid understanding of the DO-178 standard
• Able to obtain a Secret-level clearance.

Full compensation package is based on candidate experience and certifications
Pay Ranges
$120,000—$130,000 USD
