Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical point of contact for the team: facilitate discussions, unblock engineers, provide architectural guidance, and uphold best practices.

• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing.

• Collaborate with product and design to refine scope, estimate work, and align on timelines and priorities.

• Contribute hands-on across mobile platforms by implementing features, fixing bugs, and improving performance.

Must-have Skills

• ‬‭ 8+ years of iOS native mobile development experience‬.

• ‬‭ Strong hands-on experience with Swift and SwiftUI‬.

• ‬‭ Familiarity with data structures, system design, and design patterns‬.

• ‬‭ Proficiency in API design, MVVM, declarative UI, Git, and DevOps‬.

Nice-to-have:

• AI Tooling Proficiency: Leverage one or more AI tools to optimize and augment day-to-day work, including drafting, analysis, research, or process automation. Provide recommendations on effective AI use and identify opportunities to streamline workflows.

• ‬‭ Passion for news and creativity in introducing new ideas and technologies‬.

• Full-stack background is a plus, with familiarity in cloud services, GraphQL,‬‭ Firebase, etc.‬

• ‬‭ A background in journalism is advantageous‬.
