🚀 Mobile Engineer
Location: SF/NYC/ Hybrid
Type: Full-Time | Founding Team Opportunity
About Navigate AI
Navigate is an early-stage startup building groundbreaking technology to bring AI to the largely untapped workforce in the field. We've partnered with some of the biggest construction companies in the US and have access to sophisticated AI, AR, and CV platforms, —but now we need to shape it into a magical product.
This is where you come in.
The Role
We're looking for a mobile engineer who thrives at the intersection of product, design, and engineering. You're someone who cares deeply about the end-to-end user experience, not just the code. You’ll help us transform bleeding-edge AI into something people want, love, and use daily.
You’ll collaborate directly with the founders to shape the mobile product from scratch, build out core features, and influence every decision—what we build, how it feels, and how it scales.
What You’ll Do
• Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality mobile applications on iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin/Java) platforms.
• Collaborate with product designers, AI/ML engineers, and backend developers to deliver seamless UX and feature-rich functionality.
• Integrate UI designs and wireframes into engaging, interactive mobile experiences.
• Connect mobile apps to backend APIs (e.g., REST, GraphQL) and cloud services (e.g., AWS, Firebase).
• Improve app performance through memory and network optimization, profiling, and performance tuning.
• Establish and maintain CI/CD tooling for mobile development, and manage app store release pipelines.
• Write clean, maintainable code and conduct code reviews, unit and UI testing, and debugging.
• Stay up to date with mobile development best practices, emerging tools, frameworks, and trends.
• Advocate for mobile-first thinking in user workflows and help shape product evolution.
You Might Be a Fit If You:
• 3+ years of experience in mobile app development with demonstrable work on iOS and Android.
• Proficient in Swift and Kotlin (or Java), and with development tools like Xcode and Android Studio.
• Strong understanding of mobile architecture patterns (MVC, MVVM, Clean Architecture), best practices, and UI/UX design guidelines.
• Experience with API integrations, third-party SDKs, and mobile networking.
• Skilled in testing (unit tests, UI tests), build automation, version control (Git), and release management.
Bonus Points If You:
• Cross-platform experience using Flutter, React Native, or similar frameworks.
• Familiarity with mobile analytics, crash reporting, performance monitoring (e.g., Firebase Crashlytics).
• Knowledge of secure coding practices and data privacy guidelines.
• Exposure to Agile workflow, JIRA/Trello, and remote collaboration tools.
Why Join Us?
• Help shape a truly innovative product from day one
• Work with a small, fast, curious team who cares deeply about the craft
• Have massive influence over what we build and how we build it
• Competitive salary + meaningful equity
