Mining Geology Licensing Specialist

Job Purpose:

The Licenses Specialist in Mining will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements related to mining licenses and permits for a notable regulatory authority in KSA. This position involves managing the licensing application process reviewing all the applications. This includes assessing the mine conditions and providing them with a way forward for the license. The specialist will work closely stakeholders to support the sustainable and responsible development of mining projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations regarding mining operations and environmental standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary documentation and information for license applications if needed.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of mining laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Conduct audits and assessments to ensure compliance with licensing conditions and reporting requirements.
• Respond to inquiries and provide support to internal teams regarding licensing issues or changes in regulations.
• Facilitate communication with regulatory authorities on behalf of the company.
• Compile and maintain accurate records of all licenses reviewed, applications pending, and compliance activities.

Requirements:
Qualifications:

• At least a bachelor’s degree in mining engineering, geology, environmental science, or a related field.
• Years of Experience: 5–15 years of experience in mining licenses management or regulatory compliance within the mining sector.

Skills Required:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess licensing requirements and navigate regulatory processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with regulatory authorities and internal teams (English and Arabic).
• Ability to prepare detailed reports and documentation related to licensing and compliance.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge of regulatory management software.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A detailed understanding of local, state, and federal mining regulations and policies.

• Experience working with mining KSA or neighboring countries.
• Familiarity with environmental impact assessments (EIAs) in the context of mining projects.
• Previous work with mining licenses particularly in reviewing licenses.
