Mine Maintenance Supervisor 

 Red Lake Madsen Mine

Be a part of the initial team to grow and operate a regionally significant new underground mine development that is rapidly becoming the future of the iconic Red Lake gold mining district in Ontario, Canada.

Reporting to the Mine Maintenance Superintendent the successful candidate will work locally on a 14 days on and 14 day off schedule and plans, administers and reviews the maintenance activities of the  mine operation to live the safety culture, optimize resource use, minimize costs and maintain quality standards. The Mine  Maintenance Supervisor will inspire the maintenance team to create a safe, motivated and productive environment which leads to innovative continuous improvement.

The focus of this role will include:

Ensures site activities are conducted in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Ontario) and Regulations and environmental standards

Complies with all safety requirements and observes all company policies and procedures

Provide front-line supervision of corrective maintenance and preventative maintenance with established budget limitations.

Ensure required maintenance standards and preventive, predictive (condition based) on mechanical equipment are followed.

Manage the implementation of standards, targets, policies and plans to ensure the continuing and increasing operational efficiency, effectiveness and

Develop and direct cost-effective solutions to meet customers' expectations and technical requirements and to encourage best practice and innovation throughout maintenance

Execution of short, medium and long-term maintenance and operation services plans to ensure technical standards, specifications and quality assurance systems.

Provide site-wide management and leadership tor the successful implementation of the reliability-focused maintenance management operating system.

Ensure personnel development through varied job assignments, training, and employee involvement. 

Provide on-going coaching, feedback, and development suggestions to improve employee

Provide timely, accurate and well-communicated shift reports and summaries for cross-shift and turnaround needs.

Other duties as may be required

Skills and Experience:

A minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in an underground mine.

Supervisory common core

Red Seal trade certification - Heavy Duty Mechanic

Strong leadership and team building skills to develop and maintain positive working relationships with a diverse workforce

Instills a “team” approach in working with other operating departments

Must have a valid driver’s license.

Good problem solving and decision making skills as well as superior written and oral communication skills

Strong interpersonal, influencing, analytical and problem solving skills

Ability to work both independently and within a team in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment with the utmost professionalism, discretion and confidentiality is essential 

Mine Rescue experience is preferred
