The Migrant Health Director is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing Migrant and Agricultural Worker health services delivered through Mobile Unit (MU) operations. This role ensures effective daily, weekly, and monthly program operations; compliance with reporting and documentation requirements; coordination of staff, providers, and community partners; and continuity of care for migrant and agricultural worker populations. The Migrant Health Director provides hands-on operational support while maintaining administrative, scheduling, inventory, and reporting responsibilities.

• Starting Annual Wage - $72,781 to $83,698

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Program Operations & Mobile Unit Coordination
• Plans and prepares daily Mobile Unit operations to ensure readiness of staff, supplies, and patient registration materials
• Coordinates and confirms Mobile Unit visit schedules with community locations and healthcare providers
• Responds to operational changes by securing alternate locations or staffing coverage as needed
• Assists with the transportation of supplies and equipment to and from the Mobile Unit
• Provides on-site operational support on the Mobile Unit, including patient flow and registration oversight
Patient Services & Enrollment
• Registers patients and assists with the completion of required paperwork
• Reviews and verifies patient registration documents for accuracy and completeness
• Enrolls eligible patients in clinic discount and assistance programs
• Facilitates the delivery and collection of enrollments and consent documentation requiring patient signatures
• Ensures patient-facing areas of the Mobile Unit are maintained and cleaned after each visit
Staff Support & Supervision
• Conducts weekly staff meetings to plan outreach activities and operational priorities
• Provides daily operational guidance and support to staff
• Fills in for absent staff when necessary to ensure continuity of services
• Assists with training and workflow support related to Mobile Unit operations
Scheduling & Community Outreach
• Maintains weekly and monthly Mobile Unit schedules
• Identifies, evaluates, and establishes new outreach locations as program needs evolve
• Creates and distributes flyers and outreach materials for upcoming Mobile Unit visits
• Communicates regularly with community partners to support service coordination
Administrative & Reporting Responsibilities
• Completes and reconciles weekly paperwork and documentation
• Scans and uploads patient registration and clinic discount documentation into the electronic health record
• Writes off charges associated with Agricultural Worker visits per policy
• Prepares and submits required monthly reports, including Agricultural Worker reports
• Prepares and submits Board reports as required
• Attends internal, external, and Board meetings as scheduled
Inventory, Equipment, & Facility Management
• Manages medical and office supply inventory for the Mobile Unit
• Orders medical and office supplies on a monthly or as-needed basis
• Tracks inventory usage and maintains organized supply storage
• Cleans, organizes, and maintains the Mobile Unit, supply cage, and office materials
• Assembles and prepares supply and educational kits for distribution to workers
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in public health, healthcare administration, social services, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Experience working with migrants, agricultural workers, or underserved populations
• Demonstrated experience in program coordination, healthcare operations, or community outreach
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with mobile health units or outreach-based healthcare services
• Knowledge of clinic discount programs and patient enrollment processes
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• Experience with electronic health records and document scanning systems
Physical & Work Requirements
• Ability to travel to outreach locations and work on a Mobile Unit
• Ability to lift and transport supplies and equipment
• Flexible work schedule to accommodate Mobile Unit operations and meetings
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate program vehicles as required
Work Environment
This position operates in both office settings and Mobile Unit environments, including outdoor and agricultural worksite locations. This role requires frequent interaction with staff, patients, providers, and community partners.
