Davidson Charter Academy is seeking a passionate and qualified Middle School Physical Education Teacher & Athletic Director to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will have strong classroom management skills, a commitment to student success, and the ability to create engaging, effective lessons aligned with North Carolina state standards. This individual will also support and oversee athletic programming, helping to promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and student involvement in school athletics.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or a related field
NC Educator’s License or eligibility to obtain one
Strong classroom management, leadership, and communication skills
Ability to plan and deliver engaging PE lessons aligned with state standards
Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Interest in promoting student athletics, teamwork, and school spirit
Salary & Benefits
Salary based on the NC Certified Teacher Salary Schedule, years of experience, and licensure status
Additional stipend for Athletic Director duties
Additional 3% supplement, paid in December and June
Up to 6% employer 403(b) contribution match
10 PTO days per year, with unused PTO rolling over until maximum accrual is reached

Medical insurance coverage, employer-paid up to $554.57/month
Employer-funded long-term and short-term disability coverage
Employment Terms
All teachers at Davidson Charter Academy are employed on one-year contracts. Contract renewal is contingent upon successful performance, completion of duties and expectations, and available funding.
