Brief Description of the Art History Program:
The middle school Art History program has been a component of the All Saints’ curriculum since 1978. At each grade level, the curriculum includes:
Sixth Prehistoric and ancient civilizations through the Aegean and Early China;
Seventh - Ancient Greek through Renaissance art, including Islamic, West African, and Japanese art of the Middle Ages;
Eighth - 17th Century through the mid-20th century, including Baroque, Colonial American, Romanticism, Impressionism, and Modernism, as well as early photography.
Responsibilities include:
Planning and teaching the 6th-8th-grade art history curriculum
Differentiating instruction to meet diverse learning needs
Assessing and documenting student progress
Partnering closely with parents and colleagues
Supporting a positive, inclusive classroom environment
Planning and leading end of the year grade level field trips to visit San Francisco museums

Bachelor’s degree in Art History or related field required; teaching credential or advanced degree preferred
Teaching experience in a middle or high school classroom preferred
Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
Position details:
part-time, exempt, benefits-eligible
Salary range: Full time equivalent $68,000-$90,000

Professional & Community Responsibilities:
Create a classroom environment in which students feel known, supported, and challenged academically and socially.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to design curriculum, share best practices, and support the school’s program.
Participate actively in faculty meetings, professional development, committees, and school initiatives.
Communicate regularly and effectively with parents through conferences, written reports, and ongoing dialogue.
Model professionalism, ethical behavior, and the conduct expected of students.
Uphold and implement school policies and procedures related to safety, well-being, and student care.
Participate fully in school life, including grade-level events, student performances, admissions events, and key community gatherings.
Assist with coverage and supervision duties (recess, lunch, after-school programs, events) as needed.
Maintain professional growth through school-provided and self-directed professional development.
All Saints Day School believes that every employee contributes meaningfully to the success of the school. While this description outlines primary responsibilities, flexibility and a willingness to support the broader mission of the school are essential.
