Who we are looking for
In this role, you will work with State Street teams from around the globe to lead a team supporting a global premier investment management client. You will have leadership responsibility to oversee end-to-end delivery all day-to-day transactional responsibilities of the team in a fast-paced, flexible and exciting environment. The role will need to initiate and develop good communication and interpersonal relationship with business operations teams and IT and to maintain the high level of service that is currently being provided to all the clients.

This is a varied operational and managerial position with middle level of responsibility within Middle Office Services. This AVP acts as a primary escalation point for all internal/external client(s). The candidate should be hands on manager who is required to ensure the teams under their responsibility undertake delivery to both internal and external client(s), ensure timely response to client initiated queries, and escalation of any unresolve matters to manager for best resolution solution.
People & Leadership
• Provide strategic direction and leadership to AVPs, Officers, and associates across multiple teams and/or locations.
• Drive workforce planning, succession management, and long‑term capability building within Middle Office.
• Foster a high‑performance culture emphasizing accountability, ownership, empowerment, and continuous improvement.
• Lead senior‑level coaching, mentoring, and talent development programs.
Client & Relationship Management
• Act as the senior escalation contact for major clients and internal executive stakeholders.
• Maintain strong executive‑level relationships with clients, addressing complex issues with diplomacy and strategic insight.
• Oversee client satisfaction, governance, service reviews, and contractual performance adherence.
Operational & Strategic Management
• Provide executive oversight of daily operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and quality across trade processing, lifecycle management, reconciliations, settlements, pricing, and related functions.
• Design and implement scalable operating models to support growth and efficiency.
• Lead major process optimization, automation initiatives, and transformation programs.
• Manage delivery against KPIs, SLAs, and regulatory expectations.
• Ensure resource allocation, capacity management, and budget alignment.
Risk Excellence & Governance
• Strengthen the risk and control framework across Middle Office operations.
• Oversee internal and external audit engagement, compliance assessments, and regulatory interactions.
• Review and sign off on high‑impact issues, breaches, and operational risks.
Technology, Innovation & Change
• Partner with Technology, Business Architecture, and Transformation teams to enhance system capabilities and implement digital solutions.
• Sponsor IT and business change programs impacting Middle Office operations.
• Ensure teams adopt new tools, technologies, and global standards effectively.
Business Development & New Client Onboarding
• Oversee onboarding of new clients, ensuring readiness, resourcing, and operating model alignment.
• Engage in strategic conversations with clients and prospects to support business expansion.
• Support commercial teams on solution design and operating model proposals.
What we value
Specific Qualifications and Previous Level of Experience:
• Minimum of 8–10 years in Middle Office, Investment Operations, or relevant financial industry roles.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing large teams or multiple operational units.
• Deep understanding of a broad range of financial products: Equity, Fixed Income, FX, Listed and OTC Derivatives
• Proven track record in transformation, change management, and risk management.
• Degree in Accounting or Finance or Business related area
Competencies and Skills needed to succeed in the role:
• Executive presence and ability to influence at senior levels.
• Proficiency in English (C1 level); additional languages beneficial.
• Strong strategic thinking and decision making capability.
• Advanced stakeholder, conflict, and relationship management skills.
Education & Preferred Qualifications
• Degree in finance, business, technology or equivalent or relevant industry experience
• In depth understanding of Middle Office operations or related financial services functions
• Proven experience in client communication and interaction at all levels
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced, matrixed and global environments
• Experience in leveraging technology solutions including low-code tools
• Strong MS Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint skills necessary
• Tools experience such as Power BI, Tableau etc
• Strong English written and spoken ability
