Middle Office, Officer

The Officer – Middle Office Performance & Analytics is responsible for day‑to‑day execution and oversight of performance measurement, PnL analysis, MIP reconciliation, attribution, and client performance queries. The role acts as a key subject‑matter point of contact, supporting accurate delivery, issue resolution, and adherence to agreed methodologies and SLAs.

This role requires strong analytical capability, sound product knowledge, and the ability to independently manage complex performance‑related investigations.

Key Responsibilities

Performance, Attribution & PnL Analysis

• Perform and review daily and monthly performance calculations, including time‑weighted and money‑weighted returns.
• Analyze PnL drivers and MIP reconciliation differences between accounting, performance, and investment views.
• Prepare and review performance attribution outputs (security, sector, FX, derivatives) and explain variances.
• Ensure correct treatment of corporate actions, income, derivatives, financing, and bank loans within performance.

Client Queries & Issue Resolution

• Independently manage performance, PnL, and attribution queries raised by PIMCO and internal stakeholders.
• Provide clear root‑cause analysis and explanations for performance variances and methodology differences.
• Escalate complex or recurring issues appropriately, with supporting analysis and recommendations.

Controls & Governance

• Execute defined control checks across performance production and validation.
• Monitor outlier and tolerance breaches, ensuring timely investigation and resolution.
• Support ICAMS documentation, root cause articulation, and corrective actions for incidents.
• Ensure adherence to client guidelines, SLAs, and internal control standards.

Process Improvement & Collaboration

• Identify opportunities to reduce manual touchpoints and repeat issues.
• Partner with Accounting, Data, Pricing, and Technology teams to resolve data and system‑driven breaks.
• Support implementation of enhancements and process changes.

Qualifications & Experience

• 6–9 years of experience in Middle Office Performance, Investment Analytics, or PnL analysis.
• Strong understanding of fixed income instruments, derivatives, and financing products.
• Experience in a client‑facing or client‑critical operating environment.
• Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
