Role Summary
The Vice President – Middle Office Performance & Analytics will lead a global performance operations team responsible for performance measurement, PnL analysis, MIP reconciliation, attribution, and client performance queries. This role acts as the senior escalation point for complex performance‑related issues, ensures methodological accuracy, and drives strong governance, controls, and client confidence across performance deliverables.
The role requires deep expertise in investment performance, attribution methodologies, PnL drivers, and the ability to partner closely with Performance Operations, Portfolio Managers, Accounting, Data, and Technology teams.
Key Responsibilities
Performance, Attribution & PnL Oversight
• Own end‑to‑end delivery of daily, monthly, and ad‑hoc performance calculations, including time‑weighted and money‑weighted returns.
• Oversee performance attribution (sector, security, duration, curve, spread, FX, derivatives) and ensure consistency with client‑agreed methodologies.
• Lead PnL analysis and MIP reconciliation, explaining drivers between accounting, performance, and investment views.
• Ensure accurate treatment of corporate actions, income, derivatives, bank loans, and financing impacts within performance.
Client Query & Escalation Management
• Act as the senior escalation point for complex performance, PnL, and attribution queries raised by PIMCO and internal stakeholders.
• Provide clear, concise, and defensible explanations of performance variances, methodology differences, and data issues.
• Partner with Client Service and Relationship teams to maintain high client confidence and SLA adherence.
Controls, Governance & Risk Management
• Own and strengthen control framework across performance production, validation, and dissemination.
• Ensure adherence to tolerance thresholds, outlier monitoring, and escalation protocols.
• Drive ICAMS‑ready root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive control enhancements for performance‑related incidents.
• Ensure compliance with client guidelines, internal policies, and industry best practices (e.g., GIPS‑aligned principles where applicable).
Team Leadership & Capability Building
• Lead and develop a high‑performing global team across performance calculation, attribution, and analytics.
• Set clear ownership, accountability, and quality standards across the team.
• Drive training, cross‑skilling, and SME‑led models to reduce key‑person dependency.
• Foster a strong culture of risk awareness, control discipline, and continuous improvement.
Process Improvement & Transformation
• Partner with Technology and Data teams to:• Reduce manual touchpoints in performance and PnL workflows
• Improve early detection of performance outliers
• Enhance tooling (e.g., PICASO‑based analysis, automation of reconciliations)
• Actively contribute to Middle Office transformation initiatives aligned with Alpha / IMS roadmaps.

Qualifications & Experience
• 12-15 years of experience in Middle Office Performance, Attribution, or Investment Analytics, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role.
• Strong understanding of fixed income, derivatives, financing instruments, and bank loans.
• Proven experience managing client‑facing escalations and senior stakeholder interactions.
• Demonstrated ability to operate in a high‑control, high‑expectation client environment.
