Middle Office Control Associate

Caxton Associates’ primary business is to manage client and proprietary capital through global macro hedge fund strategies. As part of our continued growth, we are establishing a new office in Bangalore, India. This office will play a critical role in supporting our trading, research, and operations globally.

About the role :

The Middle Office Control Associate will play a key role in supporting the end-to-end trade lifecycle and ensuring robust controls across multiple functions. The role encompasses a broad range of Middle and Back Office responsibilities, with a strong emphasis on control, accuracy, and process integrity. The successful candidate will work as part of the global Middle Office team, supporting activities across Operations, Treasury, and Business Administration, while collaborating closely with teams in other regions to ensure seamless execution, risk mitigation, and adherence to best practices within a dynamic hedge fund environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure accurate and timely execution of key control processes including Prime Broker & Administrator reconciliations and break resolution.

• Continuously expand product and technology knowledge to support personal development and growth within the Middle Office team.

• Assist the firm in diligently fulfilling its regulatory reporting obligations.

• Support the trade lifecycle across multiple asset classes, including trade confirmation, settlement, lifecycle event management, and reconciliations.

• Responsibility for key cash controls within the Treasury function, including custodian reconciliations.

• Manage Data and Research invoice processing for Portfolio Managers.

Requirements:
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a control function within an investment bank, fund, or fund administrator.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.

• Proven experience in performing trade, position, and cash reconciliations within a financial services or hedge fund environment

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively as a team player and liaise confidently with internal stakeholders.

• Excellent attention to detail, a curious and analytical mindset, and a highly organized approach to work.

• Operates with the highest degree of ethics and integrity.

The following would be highly beneficial:

• Knowledge of finance, markets, trade life cycle

• Familiarity with a broad range of asset classes, including FX, Equity, Fixed Income, Listed Derivatives and OTC Derivatives.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with Orchestrade, iRecs (Watson Wheatley), or similar reconciliation platforms is a plus.
