Mid-Senior Mining Professionals

Hire Resolve is assisting mining organisations in hiring experienced mining professionals across the Netherlands. This is a multi-role opportunity spanning several functions within the sector, including operations, technical services, mineral processing, maintenance and reliability, projects, and health, safety and environment (HSE) leadership. These roles are suited to mid- to senior-level professionals and offer a clear progression route toward superintendent, manager, and senior site or regional leadership positions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead or support safe, efficient delivery of operations across mining, minerals processing, quarrying/aggregates, and heavy industrial environments
• Maintain compliance with the Dutch Working Conditions Act (Arbowet) and strengthen site HSE systems, including risk assessments and incident prevention
• Drive operational performance through production planning, KPI tracking, cost control, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Provide technical input to planning and scheduling, drill-and-blast performance, geotechnical/ground control, and operational risk controls (as applicable)
• Optimise plant and process performance (throughput, recovery, product quality) through troubleshooting and improvement projects (where applicable)
• Develop maintenance and reliability strategies for mobile and fixed plant assets, including shutdown planning and asset performance improvement
• Manage contractors and service providers, ensuring safe execution, quality delivery, and adherence to scope, schedule, and budget
• Support project execution and operational readiness (commissioning support, change management, and cross-functional coordination)
• Build team capability through coaching, competency development, and structured performance management
• Prepare clear reporting for audits, governance, and operational leadership decision-making

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geosciences/Geology, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Metallurgy/Mineral Processing, HSE, or a related discipline (or demonstrable equivalent experience for certain operations/maintenance leadership roles)
• Typically 5–12+ years of progressive experience in mining, minerals processing, quarrying/aggregates, dredging/offshore materials, or comparable heavy industrial environments
• Strong working knowledge of Dutch HSE expectations under the Arbowet, including risk management and safe working practices
• Familiarity with contractor safety requirements; VCA/SCC certification environment awareness is advantageous (role-dependent)
• Experience in one or more of the following: operations leadership, technical services, planning/scheduling, processing optimisation, maintenance/reliability, projects, or HSE management systems
• Comfortable with common systems/tools such as CMMS/EAM (e.g., SAP, Maximo), planning/scheduling tools, condition monitoring, and Microsoft Office (Excel; Power BI advantageous)
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills in site-based environments
• English proficiency required; Dutch is advantageous depending on role scope and site requirements
