Join the Missions & Insights organization and help us build the next generation of public safety technology. We create the platforms that power real-time emergency response, crime analysis, and critical capabilities like drone-as-first-responder and AI-driven situational awareness. Our work has a direct impact on saving lives and ensuring community safety. Our portfolio, which includes CommandCentral Aware and RapidDeploy, is expanding with cutting-edge innovations in autonomous incident detection and AI triage. Our goal is to create a mission-first, cloud-native, and intelligence-driven nerve center for modern public safety.

The Aware Core team is responsible for the collation and visualization of critical real time information, from responder location, incident information, video analytics, etc that enables real time analysts to assist responders in the field with the most up to date information.

Job Description

We are seeking self-motivated, enthusiastic engineers to help us design, develop, test, and deploy tools, and services for our SaaS products. Ideal candidates must be good at solving problems, have strong interpersonal skills that will lead to technical changes, and seek ways to improve our processes in innovative ways.  Someone that will help us make architecture changes, including taking risks that will allow us to make our product more sustainable and maintainable so that we can invest our energy in implementing new features that will make us keep our current customers and will also allow us to gain new markets. To be successful in this role, you must value teamwork and communication as well as work closely with other engineers in small, dynamic, agile teams.

What you'll do

• Perform microservice development using primarily Java and Angular.

• Partner on the design and iterative development to enhance and support an effective, reliable and secure solution.

• Interact cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Product, and QA teams.

• Design approaches supportive of our multi-tenant SaaS architecture.

• Implement platform features in a cloud environment using cloud technologies and tools.

• Develop and share industry and product technical expertise.

Basic Requirements

• 3+ years of experience developing for highly scalable and available systems.

• Experience must include the following: Java, Spring, Object Oriented Concepts, REST Services, Angular, and Micro Frontend development.

• Familiarity with Cloud platforms, Azure preferred (AWS or GCP are also welcome).

• Familiarity with tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Jira, and GitHub.

• Knowledge in practicing architectural and design patterns, open source platforms, frameworks, technologies and software engineering methodologies.

• API design & implementation experience.

• Experience using Gen AI tools in your every day workflow.

• Experience working within the Agile development methodology.

• Excellent cross-functional communication skills.

• BS degree in Computer Science or other relevant field(s) 

• Advanced English - be able to communicate effectively in English (read, write and speak)
