Boeing Brazil is seeking Mid-Career Electromagnetic Compatibility Engineer, reporting to the Electrical Installation and Electromagnetic Effects Engineering Manager, working out of the São José dos Campos office.

The Mid-Career Electromagnetic Compatibility Engineer will work with the Boeing Commercial Aircraft engineering global team to support the certification of large aircraft and to demonstrate compliance with relevant regulatory and customer requirements and procedures defined in the company’s Design Organization Handbook (DOH).

Position Responsibilities:

• Develops and validates requirements for various communication, sensor, electronic equipment and other electromagnetic related systems and components.
• Develops and evaluates electromagnetic requirements for electrical\electronic systems, mechanical systems, interconnects and structures.
• Develops architectures to integrate complex systems and components into higher level systems and platforms. Performs trade studies, modeling, simulation and other forms of analysis to predict component, interconnects and system performance and to optimize design around established requirements.
• Defines and conducts tests to validate performance of designs to requirements. Manages appropriate aspects of supplier and partner performance to ensure compliance to requirements.
• Provides support to products throughout their lifecycle from manufacturing to customer use by providing guidance and support to resolve complex issues.
• Supports project management by providing information to coordinate development of work statement, budget, schedule and other required inputs and conducting appropriate reviews.
• Writes appropriate sections of proposals to support development of new business.

This position is hybrid / Telecommuting. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Must have existing rights to work in Brazil.
• Must have a degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic or Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering.
• Fluent in both written and verbal English.
• Must be registered or eligible to register with the Engineering and Agronomy Regional Council (Conselho Regional de Engenharia e Agronomia - CREA).
• Experience on aircraft development programs and electromagnetic effects on aircraft.

Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):

• Experience as FAA Compliance Verification Engineer with terms of approval relevant to the Electrical Systems and/or Avionic Systems disciplines.

• Experience on FAA regulatory and airworthiness requirements including (E)TSO FAR-25 requirements (relevant to the magnetic effects discipline).

• ​Experience of FAA Part 21 Design Organization (or equivalent).

• Experience on aircraft development programs, reviewing design with a high emphasis on electrical systems including, but not limited to: connectivity, antennae and electric loads, electronic equipment qualification per DO-160 and/or ARP5583A, ARP5415B, ARP60493.

• Experience in requirements management per ARP4754A or similar, and related computer aided tools.

• Experience with Safety management per ARP4761, or similar.

• Experience with environmental effects related to magnetic threats such as High Intensity Radiated Fields (HIRF), lightning direct and indirect effects, and precipitation static.

This requisition is for a locally hired position in Brazil.  

Candidates must have current legal authorization to live and work in Brazil.
