1. 7+ years of experience with Microstrategy development including reports and building dashboards
2. Experience working with various components within microstrategy but must have worked with architecture.
3. Some light knowledge/ability to write PL/SQL code.
Job Description: Barclays is looking for a Microstrategy Developer for a 6 month+ contract position. Candidates will be doing reporting and building dasboards for all lines of business (marking, fraud, risk, etc.) based on project needs. For example, Marketing wants to know how many card holders within a certain location or demographic has used certain card features to ensure their marketing programs are efficient. This team will build the reports for the marketing team. They must have 7 years of experience as a Microstrategy Developer. The should have experience with the Microstrategy technology stack including architecture experience--setting up the metadata. Ideally candidates will have experience with Unix as microstrategy is run on Unix servers at Barclays. Candidates should have some oracle PL/SQL experience as they are an Oracle shop. Experience with Command Manager is a plus as is Agile experience.
Additional Information: MicroStrategy Architect (Required skills)
• Should be good in Requirements gathering (pay attention to details)
• Understand the requirements and convert them into Logical Data Model (Hierarchies)
• Must understand the concept of Slowly Changing Dimensions and should know how to architect them in Microstrategy.
• Experience working with capturing reporting on Current and Historical Data.
• Experience working with Transformations.

MicroStrategy Developer (Required skills)
• Experience working with Complex reports.
• Experience with Report Services Documents (Dashboards).
• Experience with Rolling Metrics, Nested Metrics, Relationship Filters, etc..
• Experience with VLDB Properties (multi-pass sql, hints, etc)
• Work on Tuning reports with Performance issues.
• Experience with Narrowcast Server. Should be able to create Static and Dynamic Subscription sets.
• End User Training

MicroStrategy Administration (some flexibility here but should be familiar with concepts)
• Experience with Upgrades, regression testing, etc..
• Experience with setting up Narrowcast Server.
• Experience with Object Manager
• Experience with Intelligence Server / Web Server administration.
• Experience with Security roles, Security Filters, User management, Access Control Lists, etc..
• Experience with Enterprise Manager

Database Skills
• Good Oracle SQL writing skills
• Good Oracle SQL tuning skills

MicroStrategy Nice to haves
• Setup of Unix iServer and web server in NT
• Experience with Command Manager
A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in the below areas:
• Excellent written and oral communication
• Experience in financial services or highly regulated industry
• Knowledge of software design
• Knowledge of software development processes
• Knowledge of software maintenance processes
• Excellent organizational, problem solving and analytical
MCE Certification preferred.
Familiarity with Scrum techniques and Agile methodology
