Microsoft 365 Consultant

Planet Technologies, the Nation’s leading Microsoft services provider to the public sector, is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our growing team as a Microsoft 365 Consultant. In this role, you will be supporting impactful projects that make a difference for our country.

We are seeking a Microsoft 365 Consultant with deep technical expertise in identity, Exchange hybrid, and email migration solutions. You must be highly experienced with tenant-to-tenant migrations, including tooling like Quest On Demand, AvePoint Fly Saas and BitTitan migration tools. If you're passionate about cloud technologies, solving complex challenges, and working directly with clients, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design and implement secure and scalable Exchange hybrid environments
• Lead Microsoft 365 migrations, with heavy emphasis on Email and tenant-to-tenant migrations
• Execute third-party Email migrations from platforms like Google Workspace, Zimbra, and other IMAP platforms
• Advise clients on identity architecture, including Entra ID, hybrid identity, and conditional access
• Develop and execute PowerShell scripts and Microsoft Graph API calls for automation and reporting
• Troubleshoot complex mail flow, hybrid configuration, and authentication issues
• Collaborate with internal and client teams on architecture, documentation, and execution
• Stay current on the Microsoft 365 roadmap and evolving best practices
• Identify, scope, and refer opportunities for additional sales for Planet provided services and offerings

Required Skills & Experience:
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, especially Exchange Online, Defender for Office 365, and hybrid configurations and migrations
• Expert-level experience with tenant-to-tenant migrations
• Deep understanding of identity services: Active Directory, Entra ID, Entra Connect, and hybrid device join
• Strong experience with Quest On Demand, AvePoint Fly Saas and BitTitan tools
• Expertise in PowerShell scripting for automation and administration
• Experience with the Microsoft Graph API
• Familiarity with Defender for Office 365 and compliance/security settings

Essential Qualities:
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Clear and confident communicator—able to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Proven ability to lead engagements in a client-facing consulting or partner role
• Self-driven, organized, and able to manage time and tasks independently

Nice to Have:
• Microsoft certifications (MS-203, SC-300, or similar)
• Experience with compliance frameworks such as NIST, CMMC, and HIPAA
• Experience with Microsoft Government Community Cloud High (GCC High) tenants and deployments
• Experience with Intune, Teams, and SharePoint Online
• Experience migrating on-premises Active Directory environments
• Familiarity with identity governance, lifecycle management, and cross-platform synchronization

Salaries for Consultants at Planet Technologies range from $120,000 and $210,000. Several factors will impact final pay offered to a successful candidate including but not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, clearance level, the type of years and experience within the industry, education, training, etc.
