MES (PAS-X) Technical Consultant

The MES (PAS-X) Technical Consultant is responsible for executing technical deployment activities related to MES (PAS-X), including installation, configuration, connectivity setup, migration, and upgrade support across manufacturing environments. The role supports both local site teams and global project stakeholders while implementing technical direction provided by the client Technical Lead and Solution Architect.

The consultant is expected to operate independently, coordinate with multiple technical domains, and ensure stable technical delivery throughout implementation and validation phases. Because apparently modern projects require one person to understand everything from MES to networking while also attending every status call humans invent.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on MES (PAS-X) installation, configuration, environment preparation, and connectivity setup for deployments, migrations, and system upgrades.
• Execute technical designs, standards, and configuration patterns defined by the client Technical Lead and Solution Architect.
• Serve as the day-to-day technical contact for site teams during implementation activities.
• Support troubleshooting across technical workstreams during build, testing, and validation phases.
• Identify technical issues, risks, dependencies, and blockers, and escalate promptly to the Technical Lead when required.
• Create, maintain, and manage project-level technical documentation, ensuring accurate handover to operations and validation teams.
• Collaborate closely with integration, authoring, infrastructure, and platform teams to ensure smooth end-to-end technical delivery.
• Work across multiple technical domains including SAP, IT Security, Networking, and infrastructure teams.
• Coordinate directly with L2 integration production teams and work closely with the Solution Architect on technical execution topics.
• Independently manage assigned technical activities and ensure delivery according to project timelines and quality standards.
• Lead and participate in daily, weekly, and monthly technical status meetings with SMEs and project stakeholders.

Requirements:
Required Qualifications

• 7 to 10 years of experience in MES technical consulting, with strong hands-on expertise in Werum PAS-X
• Proven experience in MES installation, configuration, migration, and upgrade projects within regulated manufacturing environments
• Strong understanding of system integration across MES, ERP, infrastructure, and enterprise platforms
• Experience working in complex cross-functional environments involving SAP, IT infrastructure, security, and networking teams
• Ability to work independently and manage technical deliverables with limited supervision
• Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving capabilities
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and business stakeholders

Preferred Skills

• Experience in pharmaceutical or life sciences manufacturing environments
• Exposure to validation support within GxP-regulated environments
• Familiarity with deployment standards, release processes, and technical documentation practices
• Ability to work in global delivery models across multiple time zones
