Job Description
GLY is seeking an MEP Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of complex construction projects by coordinating MEP scopes from preconstruction through closeout. This role partners with project teams, field leaders, design professionals, and subcontractors to manage planning, procurement, QA/QC, RFIs, submittals, scheduling, and MEP coordination. The position also contributes to cost control, permitting, and project closeout activities, and is ideal for a collaborative, technically strong professional with a proactive mindset and desire to grow.

Assist project staff in establishing construction plan and temporary services layout (water, power, gas etc.) and assist with procurement of temporary equipment
Intimately involved in monitoring quality of work in the field through the GLY QA/QC program
Identifies and ensures coordination of scope with all applicable trades for each scope. Reviews others work to ensure consistency.
Reviewing all A/E specifications, drawings, etc. to ensure technical and code requirements are met.
Develop understanding of contracts, prime contracts, MEP subcontracts, and mitigates and manages risk.
Able to contribute and manage preconstruction activities with team; RFP’s, prepare bid packages, buy out, early procurement, schedule analysis and contribution.
Manage effective meetings within GLY and with design team, to drive action items to resolution.
Leads the procurement log efforts and procurement schedule in conjunction with the Supt.
Ensures correct material and quantities arrive on time through regular check in with the PE team and the subcontractors.
Keep team on task for construction issues tracking and maintaining the workflows for timely, RFI’s, submittals and resolution.
Maintains the MEP coordination schedule and conducts MEP clash and coordination through Navisworks or applicable GLY current standard when required.
Contributes to contracts, purchase orders, change orders, job costs, as determined with the team
Monitor permits and tracking process with the team to ensure in hand on time and continually maintained through the project to close out.
Monitors all facets of project close-out, including commissioning, operation and maintenance manuals, spare part inventory, deficiencies, and warranty work
Develop understanding GLY workflows and process, ensures the team is following and delivering a consistent product to our design team, clients, and subcontractors.
Collaborates with our field leaders and mentors other PE’s
what it takes:
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
3-6+ years project engineering experience within General Contactor performing MEP specific management or within a Mechanical/Electrical Engineer or Contractor
Proficiency in MS Office, Bluebeam, and Auto-CAD required; knowledge of REVIT, Sketch-Up and On-screen Take-Off, PlanGrid, Smartsheet and Enterprise Resource Planning software (e.g. CMiC) a plus.
Other specialized experience or accreditations preferred, e.g. LEED, PE, DBIA, CXa, EIT, etc.
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills - communication is a large part of what we do.

The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $125,000.
