As we continue to expand, we are growing our Lake Charles team in preparation for increasing our capacity to 42 beds, allowing us to better serve our community.

We are currently seeking a full-time Mental Health Tech (MHT) for the day shift (6:45 AM–7:00 PM) to join our clinical team.
POSITION SUMMARY:
A Mental Health Technician (MHT) at Freedom Behavioral Lake Charles provides hands-on support to patients while helping the care team maintain a safe and structured environment.
In this role, MHTs closely monitor patient behavior, perform routine safety checks, and assist with daily needs such as hygiene, meals, and mobility. They also support group activities, encourage participation in treatment, and help patients build positive coping and social skills.
MHTs document patient interactions, report any changes in condition or behavior to nursing staff, and assist with de-escalation when situations arise. This role requires strong communication, patience, and the ability to remain calm and supportive in a fast-paced, sometimes challenging setting.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Previous experience caring for geriatric psychiatric patients strongly preferred.
• CNA Certification preferred
• Updated resumes with work history required
