Term: Full-time Indeterminate
Department: Administration
Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary Range: $42,150 - $50,330
(Salary dependent on education and experience) + Group benefits and pension.
The Membership and Estates Clerk will assist and administer to on-reserve and off-reserve band members by processing information regarding births, deaths, marriages, divorces, etc. The Membership and Estates Clerk works with the other Clerk and assists the Logistics Manager in completing clerical functions related to membership and estate transactions/administration. The Membership and Estates Clerk will have knowledge of Indigenous Service Canada’s (ISC) policies and procedures concerning Indian registration or the willingness to be trained.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as a primary contact point for WRFN members, managing relationships and general communications with members and responding to emails and incoming phone calls.
Reviewing all incoming new and renewal membership applications; make recommendations to the supervisor based on established processes and protocols.
Collect and verify member information to ensure complete enrolment of new members.
Ensuring timely and periodic updates on individual membership records as stipulated in the membership guidelines.
Research critical and changing member needs and possible ways of providing more value to members.
Consult with the Indian Registry Administrator at AANDC and other First Nation Membership Clerks as needed.
Maintain an accurate filing system, including maintaining the WRFN Citizenship Register, Probationary Citizenship Register, and the WRFN Voter’s List for Election purposes.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent experience.
A post-secondary diploma in Office Administration would be an asset.
A membership Administration Diploma is preferred; however, training will be provided to the successful candidate.
Working knowledge or understanding of the Whitefish River First Nation Membership Code and Constitution.
Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and traditions.
Must have a valid Class ‘G’ driver’s license with a reliable method of transportation.
Excellent organizational skills.
Excellent computer skills, specifically with MS Office; further skills in PowerPoint, Publisher, and Access would be considered an asset.
