The Purpose:
The purpose of this role is responsible for managing and monitoring Member compliance with AP+ Scheme Rules across all three Schemes. Acting as a subject matter expert, the role provides specialist advice and oversight on due diligence, non-compliance matters and risk prioritisation, while maintaining strong engagement with Members and internal stakeholders. The role ensures compliance processes are effectively administered, issues are addressed within agreed timeframes, and governance records and reporting are maintained to support AP+’s regulatory and strategic objectives.
As the Member Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for:
• Manage and monitor Member compliance with AP+ Scheme Rules, including due diligence, annual attestations and remediation activities.
• Coordinate and resolve non-compliance cases and tickets within agreed SLAs, recommending appropriate consequence management actions.
• Provide specialist interpretation and advice on Scheme Rules and compliance frameworks to Members and internal stakeholders.
• Facilitate stakeholder discussions regarding breaches, remediation plans, exemptions and risk prioritisation.
• Maintain accurate compliance registers, governance documentation and audit-ready records.
• Prepare and deliver compliance reporting, analyse trends and provide insights to management and relevant forums.
• Draft and issue Member communications relating to compliance matters and regulatory obligations.
• Contribute to quality assurance activities, identifying control gaps and process improvement opportunities.
• Support incident and problem management activities related to Member compliance matters.
• Collaborate cross-functionally (Product, Legal, Payment Operations, Commercial, Fraud) to support organisation-wide initiatives and strengthen compliance outcomes.
The skills & knowledge you need to have:
• Minimum of 3 years working in compliance in either the payments industry or financial services
• In depth understanding of the regulatory landscape of either the payments industry, banking or financial services.
• Strong understanding of effective risk and control frameworks is a must.
• Familiarity with regulatory and legal requirements relating to the Financial Services industry.
• Effective workflow management to SLA’s.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, advanced degree or certification in management is a plus.
