About the Team:
You will join a core engineering group responsible for the foundations of Studio Pro, Mendix’s flagship IDE. This team builds and maintains critical platform components such as version control, solution governance, and backend mechanisms that power collaborative development.
Most development is C#/.NET and backend-focused, with selected native UI components also implemented in C#.

The Role:
Are you a hands-on, proactive C# developer who enjoys building complex development platforms? Do you want to work on an IDE used by thousands of professional and citizen developers alike? Are you motivated by solving architectural challenges and simplifying complexity for others?
As a Senior C# Software Engineer, you will take ownership of core functionality within Studio Pro. You will design, extend, and refactor platform mechanisms that enable version control, governance, and application development at scale. Your work directly impacts how Mendix developers build, collaborate, and deliver applications worldwide.

Responsibilities: :
• Design, implement, and maintain core Studio Pro functionality using C# and .NET
• Analyze complex problems and break them down into clean, maintainable solutions
• Apply an iterative development approach, delivering improvements in short feedback cycles
• Investigate existing functionality to refactor, improve performance, and introduce new features
• Take ownership of quality through proactive risk identification, testing, and code reviews
• Collaborate closely with team members, valuing shared ownership and knowledge exchange
• Continuously learn and stay current with platform engineering, tooling, and software design best practices

Required Experience: :
• 4 plus years of professional experience in C# and .NET
• Strong background in backend development and desktop application development
• Experience designing and delivering large-scale components or systems
• Solid understanding of unit testing, test automation, and code review practices
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and working in cross-functional development teams

Nice to have: :
• Experience building web applications with TypeScript and React
• Knowledge of Domain Specific Languages (DSLs) and metamodeling
• Experience designing frameworks or platforms for broad internal or external usage
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins or Bamboo
• Experience with multi-platform development, including macOS
• Hands-on experience building Mendix applications
