About the Role
We are seeking a Medical Technologist (ASCP) – Generalist to join our Core Laboratory team in a 230+ bed acute-care hospital. This is a full-time, day-shift role (7:00a–7:30p) with rotating weekends.
As a Core Lab Generalist, you’ll rotate through multiple benches—including Hematology, Chemistry, Blood Bank, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Serology, and Microbiology—providing critical diagnostic support for the ED, ICU, NICU/PICU, oncology, cardiac, surgical, and inpatient services. Your work will directly impact turnaround times, patient safety, and clinical decision-making.
What You’ll Do
• Perform moderate and high-complexity testing across all major benches with accurate, timely result reporting.
• Execute and document QC/QA, calibrations, proficiency testing, and corrective actions in compliance with CLIA, CAP, and SOP standards.
• Troubleshoot analyzers, coordinate vendor service, and support downtime protocols.
• Prioritize STAT and urgent workflows while maintaining specimen integrity.
• Assist with specimen processing, accessioning, and phlebotomy as needed.
• Precept and orient new staff or students, supporting training and competency checks.
• Maintain safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance—supporting lab readiness for inspections.
Required
• Florida Medical Technologist License (or eligibility/application in progress).
• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field.
• National certification (ASCP MLS/MT or equivalent) required prior to start.
• U.S. work authorization.
Preferred
• Prior MT experience (new grads with strong rotations welcome).
• Cross-training across multiple benches.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume, high-acuity hospital setting.
