Employment Type, Schedule & Compensation
• Employment Type: Full-Time | Permanent
• Shifts Available:
• Days | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (Rotating Weekends)
• Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Rotating Weekends)
• Base Pay Range:
• $27.72 – $33.00 per hour (up to 5 years experience)
• $36.30 per hour (10 years experience)
• Up to $39.60 per hour (15+ years experience)
• Shift Differentials:
• Nights: +$3.00/hour
• Weekends: +$2.00/hour
• Sign-On Bonus:
• $10,000 (Days)
• $15,000 (Nights)
• Relocation Assistance: Available on a case-by-case basis
Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and clinically strong Med-Surg Oncology RN to join a dynamic acute care oncology unit in Tallahassee, Florida.
This role focuses on caring for adult oncology and medical-surgical patients requiring close monitoring, chemotherapy-related care, symptom management, and interdisciplinary coordination. Nurses are expected to exercise sound clinical judgment, provide patient-centered care, and support patients and families throughout complex treatment plans.
Responsibilities
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and identify oncology-specific care needs.
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per provider orders.
• Monitor patients for changes in condition and respond appropriately.
• Advocate for patient safety and quality outcomes.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, procedures, and discharge planning.
• Collaborate with physicians, case management, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
Required
• Active Florida RN license or approved multistate RN license.
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care RN experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred
• Oncology or chemotherapy administration experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• ACLS certification (required within 6 months of hire if not current).
Unit Details
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:5 – 1:6
• Acute care oncology environment
• Rotating weekend requirement
