We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Remote Medical Scribe to join the healthcare team. The ideal candidate will accurately document patient encounters in real-time, assisting healthcare providers by managing electronic health records (EHR) and ensuring the highest quality of patient care. This position offers the flexibility to work from home while making a significant impact on the efficiency and effectiveness of medical services.
Job Responsibilities
• Document Patient Encounters: Accurately and efficiently transcribe medical histories, physical examinations, diagnoses, procedures, and treatment plans during patient visits.
• Manage Electronic Health Records (EHR): Update and maintain patient records in the EHR system, ensuring all information is complete and accurately recorded.
• Real-Time Data Entry: Enter patient information into the EHR system in real-time, supporting healthcare providers during consultations.
• Coordinate with Medical Team: Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to ensure seamless patient care and accurate documentation.
• Assist with Chart Reviews: Review and edit patient charts for completeness and accuracy, ensuring all documentation meets regulatory and compliance standards.
• Maintain Confidentiality: Handle patient information with the utmost confidentiality and in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Administrative Support: Perform various administrative tasks as needed to support the healthcare team, including scheduling appointments and managing correspondence.
Requirements:
• Previous experience as a medical scribe or in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required. Familiarity with medical terminology and EHR systems is a plus.
• Excellent typing and transcription skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficiency with EHR systems and general computer literacy
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
• Certifications: Certified Medical Scribe Specialist (CMSS) certification is an advantage but not required.
• HIPAA certification is preferred
Minimum Technical and Work Environment Requirements:
• Internet Connection:
• Primary internet connection with a minimum speed of 15 Mbps.
• Backup internet connection with at least 10 Mbps.
• Backup connection must be capable of supporting work during a power outage.
• Primary Device:
• Desktop or laptop equipped with at least:
• Intel Core i5 (8th generation or newer), Intel Core i3 (10th generation or newer), AMD Ryzen 5, or an equivalent processor.
• A minimum of 8 GB RAM.
• Backup Device:
• Must meet or exceed the performance of an Intel Core i3 processor.
• Must be functional during power interruptions.
• Peripherals and Workspace:
• A functioning webcam.
• A noise-canceling USB headset.
• A quiet, dedicated home office space.
• A smartphone for communication and verification purposes.
