Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Medical Records Specialist to join our team full-time, Monday through Friday. This position is responsible for managing, maintaining, and processing medical records accurately and efficiently while supporting the day-to-day operations of the office.
The ideal candidate can multitask in a fast-paced environment, work independently with minimal supervision, collaborate effectively with a team, and demonstrate strong technology skills across multiple software platforms.
Schedule
Full-Time
8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday through Thursday
8:00 am - 4:00 pm Friday
This position requires you to work on-site at our Winter Park, FL, location.
Key Responsibilities
Process, maintain, and organize patient medical records in accordance with company policies and HIPAA regulations
Scan, upload, index, and retrieve medical records accurately within electronic medical record systems and other platforms
Respond to medical records requests from patients, providers, attorneys, insurance companies, and other authorized parties
Ensure timely completion and delivery of records requests
Review records for accuracy and completeness
Track and manage multiple requests, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously
Communicate professionally with internal staff, providers, and outside organizations
Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive patient information at all times
Assist with administrative tasks and support other departments as needed
Qualifications
Previous experience in medical records, healthcare administration, or a related office environment preferred
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to multitask and manage a high volume of work efficiently
Strong technology aptitude and the ability to learn and navigate various software platforms and systems
Proficient with computers, Microsoft Office, email, and electronic records systems
eCW experience a plus
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Dependable, professional, and able to maintain confidentiality
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations preferred
