Our specialty medical practice is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Medical Records staff member to join our team in Mobile, Alabama. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys organization, accuracy, and working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

The ideal candidate will have prior medical records experience, knowledge of HIPAA regulations, and an understanding of release of information procedures.

This is a full-time, day shift position with no weekends and paid holidays off.

Responsibilities

Maintain and organize electronic medical records (EMR/EHR)

File and manage patient charts and documentation

Process medical records requests and release of information

Ensure HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality

Respond to medical records inquiries from providers, patients, and staff

Fax and upload medical records and documentation

Accurately scan and index patient information

Support daily medical records operations in a busy specialty practice

Qualifications

Previous medical records or healthcare administrative experience preferred

Knowledge of medical terminology required

Understanding of HIPAA and release of information procedures

Strong organizational and multitasking skills

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems preferred

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced medical office environment
